I Can Cook Too

image Or at least make pretty food.  Last Friday for dinner I made pork chops, gravy, mixed vegetables and coleslaw.  It was my first time making gravy.

It wasn’t difficult and I am by no means bragging about my cooking ability, but it was so pretty that I had to take a picture.

Today, I was getting the pictures off of my camera and it was so funny (to me) that I decided I had to post it on my blog.

My silliness knows no bounds.  It made me giggle anyway.  I’ll forgive you for rolling your eyes.

  1. The great thing is that I totally rolled my eyes! :P Your plate is very colorful! Mine are never that colorful. I'm good with just having some green. You know, you should try coating pork chops that have been marinaded in italian dressing with mix of panko bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and baking them till crispy! Mmmmmm. You should feel great that you made a good brown gravy. Those are pretty tough. I have yet to make a good one from scratch.

  2. Thanks for rolling your eyes. It had to be done. I had to focus to prevent myself from doing it after I read over my work.

The coating thing I haven't done yet. In Germany, of course, they coat veal and call it Schnitzel. I've got some Schnitzel mix in my pantry.

Thanks for the tip. I secretly commandeered new cookware a few months ago and I've been enjoying the cooking experiment thus far.

  3. I make a lot of eye rolling statements so I can't really say anything to you. Heh.

I've never had Schnitzel, (haha what a great word) but I have coated almost anything I can in panko bread and various seasonings.

I'm a secret wanna be chef. I love to cook. I also am mildly obsessed with Food Network. Haha. I recommend having cast iron pots and pans and lots of wooden spoons. It's only the best -- if you cure them properly!
